From February, it will be possible to obtain a favourable loan in addition to the subsidy for comprehensive renovation of family houses.

The programme entitled Oprav dům po babičce (Repair the house from your grandma) has been running for a few months now and there is really a huge demand for the grant support. From February, it will now also be possible to obtain a favourable loan to co-finance comprehensive insulation and other energy-saving measures. The loan will be intermediated by financial institutions licensed by the CNB. Specifically, it will be building societies and banks that will start offering credit for insulation and other energy-saving measures.

The loan will cover the difference between the eligible expenditure and the advance grant provided. Its main advantage over conventional commercial loans will be long-term repayment of up to 20 years with guaranteed low interest. At the same time, you will not have to pledge the property.

In order to qualify for the loan, you will need to meet the condition of being approved to draw down the advance grant in the Repair the House from Your Grandma programme. The funds of the loan with a guaranteed low interest rate can only be used for implementation of the measures supported by the grant.

What will the loan be available for?

  • Comprehensive insulation of a family house
  • Other complementary energy-saving measures – renewable energy sources, water management systems, green roofs or charging stations for electric vehicles
