End of capped energy prices

The energy price caps, which shielded customers from the soaring costs of the unregulated component of electricity and gas prices throughout last year, will expire on 31 December 2023. Consumers who have prices fixed above the government cap will therefore pay more for their consumption from the new year. Considering that the regulated component of the energy price will also increase from the new year, the energy bill could therefore surprise many people unpleasantly.

If you fall into this category of customer, it is time to approach your distributor and ask for a new contract with a more favourable tariff. While some distributors actively reach out to their customers and offer them better terms, we recommend not relying on this.
