1,296 people have not collected savings from the 2nd pillar of pension savings

In the year 2016, the 2nd pillar of pension savings ended, and in the year 2017, unsettled resources of the participants were transferred by pension companies to financial authorities. The Financial Administration points out that former participants in pension savings may request payment of their uncollected savings from the financial authority.

As of 31 August 2021, the Financial Administration registers 1,296 participants in pension savings, who have not requested their finance yet (unpaid finance reaching CZK 8,404,760). The Financial Administration may pay uncollected financial means from the second pillar of pension savings (to a former participant in the second pillar of pension savings) only based on a submitted request for return of overpayment at the participants’ local financial authority. You can find a model request for return of overpayment and more detailed information here.

Resources from the second pillar of pension savings may be paid to taxpayers until the end of the year 2023 at the latest. The Financial Administration will then transfer them to the state budget.
